Ephesians 2:1-10 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. As we look at this passage of scripture tonight, Paul tells us that it is only by grace that we are saved. We have sang the song Amazing Grace so many times, but do we ever take the time to stop and think about the words and the meaning of that great Hymn? Do we really understand just exactly how amazing that grace really is that sets a sinner free? Sometimes I feel that so many of us have been raised in church and heard the gospel preached so many times that we have become calloused to it!!!!!!! Its almost like we take the grace of God for granted and sometimes its like we think that He owes it to us or something. We fail to realize where we were, what we were doing, and where the end of that road that we were walking was going to take us!!!!!!!!!! Oh how often we forget where we came from and who and what it was that brought us out of that and to where we are now!!!!!!!!!!! First of all, we were all sinners!!!!!!!!! David said in Psalms 51:5, Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Paul.says in Romans 3:23 that, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; He also tells us in Romans 3:10-11 that, As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Isaiah 53:6 says that, All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Now we know that the bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:50 that, Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. So we being unrighteous and corrupt could not inherit the kingdom of God!!!!!!!!! Now God could have just left us to be destroyed, He could.have just destroyed the earth again and all.pf us, but NO!!!!!!!! He chose to provide for us a sacrifice that no one else could ever provide, nor could we ever provide for ourselves!!!!!!!!!!! And the only way for that sacrifice to take place was for it to be His Son, the only sinless man to ever live to be put to death as a sacrifice for our sins!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine allowing your child to be killed for all mankind? Can you imagine giving up your child for a bunch of people that had constantly turned their backs on you? Can you imagine dying for a bunch of people that beat you, lied about you, denied you, and cursed you? Not once, but over and over and over again!!!!!!!!!! Now in Romans 6:23 Paul tells us that, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We deserve death because of our sins, but look, the gift of God is eternal life!!!!!!!!!! Its a gift!!!!!!! We have done nothing to deserve it, we have done nothing to earn it, there is nothing that we can do to earn it!!!!!!!!!!! It is the gift of God, by His grace, from His mercy, and through His love!!!!!!!!!!! Romans 5:6-9 tells us that, For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Dear friends we need to realize how blessed we are that God loves us like He does!!!!!!!!! Because without His love, without His mercy, without His grace we are destined to hell!!!!!!!!!!!! But because of His love, mercy, and grace He provided for us a sacrifice through the death of His Son Jesus Christ so that we could be saved from death and hell and forgiven of our sins and spend eternity with Him in heaven!!!!!!!! Romans 10:8-11 tells us, But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. So that we could sing Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now Im found, was blind but now I see. I Praise God for His Amazing Love, Mercy, Sacrifice, and Grace!!!!!!!!!! If you have never accepted Him as your personal Savior, I beg you, Do it today!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
