Ephesians 2:11-13 “11. Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— 12. Remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” It is a great and wonderful thing to know that Christ died to redeem us and bring us into fellowship with God Almighty, who we were enemies with until the Blood of Christ was applied. In addition, as we were reminded in a magnificent display of anointed preaching on Sunday, we were not just saved to miss hell or to go to heaven. Jordan Green brought forth the Word of God in such a way to call each of us to the life that God has intended. It is not just about what we were saved from, but what we also are saved to. We are redeemed unto good works. James eloquently writes; …I will show my faith by my works. Putting on the “Helmet of Salvation” has a deeper meaning for me today. It reminds me of what my days should look like, my life should look like and what my desires should be. It is to show forth the message of our Lord toward the world. We are to allow the word of God to transform our mind, our thinking, our actions and thereby our character in order to fulfill the will of the Father in each of our lives. Followers of Christ, we have much to do and at times it seems a long way to go to get back to where we need to be. But do not fret, with God all things are possible, and if we rely fully upon Him, we can accomplish it.
