A kind heart is a foundation of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles. -Washington Irving - *KINDNESS - This sweetness of disposition is apposed to a harsh, cruel, rude temperament that causes trouble and promotes unhappiness. Our world is hard enough without the waves caused by the sour, crabby, unkind individual; it has enough troubles exclusive of the fights created by the cold, cruel person. A little kindness makes a big difference, and gives joy to everybody. It is truly a delight to be with. the mild, calm, kind person; as like begets like, the same spirit rubs off on others. Indeed, kindness is what we all need. Give me the considerate look! The gentle voice! The kind hand! I need it. Furthermore, and generally speaking, so does everyone else. And as my path crosses theirs, and my words meet theirs, may I keep this in mind and treat them respectfully and kindly. They are apt to pass a little of it on. Its obvious that an urgent need in this world of ours that has turned insensitive to the needs of others is to show a heart. For it takes a heart to win a heart. I like what Henry Ward Beecher said: Though the world needs reproof and correction, it needs kindness more; though it needs the grasp of the strong hand, it needs, too, the open palm of love and tenderness... ..~..Its up to us to make it a beautiful day!
