Episode Recap – 1/9/15 - (contains spoilers from todays show) - #boldandbeautiful Looking at the portrait, Caroline asks Rick what he’s doing. She asks Rick how he could let Maya put that up there and he tells Caroline that he did it – as a little housewarming gift. Maya is in the bedroom admiring her clothes, putting on makeup and then she goes to the window and notices a car – and says – is that Caroline’s car? At FC, Ivy is working and Liam comes in with lattes. Ivy asks Liam to wait a second and she check orders. She says she’s been busier since Wyatt went to Italy. Liam asks if he’s been in touch, that he hasn’t heard anything. Ivy says – he responded to an email but, that was it. Liam says he wishes he knew what was going on and that Hope and Wyatt are okay. Liam asks if he upset Ivy and she says no. He tells her that she seems preoccupied and then she says – she doesn’t think Liam is going to believe this but, it’s something that Rick’s done and she tells him about the portrait. Maya wonders why Caroline is there and then has flashbacks to scenes of Caroline (the scenes are pretty much Caroline rubbing it in on Maya’s background.) Caroline says – this is why you wanted me to come here – you wanted me to see the picture of Maya. Rick says that she called him. Caroline tells him it’s not too late for them and says but, putting up this picture. Rick says that Ridge was always Stephanie’s favorite son – her Marone bastard she tried to pass off as a Forrester – if dad wants to look at her disapproving eyes every day of his life – that’s his business. Caroline tells him to put up another painting. He says he likes the one of Maya – it reminds him there are honest people in this world. Caroline tells him not to do this – that Rick doesn’t love Maya. Maya continues to get ready and her phone rings and it’s Othello. He teases her and asks if it’s the lady of the house. Maya teases back and she tells him – so far so good. She tells Othello she’s settling in and its good that Rick and her can share their feelings out in the open. She tells him about the portrait and that Rick put one of her up. She says she feels like she’s living a dream she doesn’t deserve and Othello tells her – she does deserve it. He says that Rick is finally with a woman that will stay committed and support him. He says – you’re the only one that’s been honest with him and you deserve every bit of it. Liam says to Ivy – so you think Maya is just using Rick and she says yes. Liam isn’t sure and Ivy brings up that all Maya cares about is being Mrs. Rick Forrester and having that last name. Liam tells Ivy that she wasn’t there when Rick and Maya first met and it was sweet and he agrees that Rick is on the rebound and Maya has some crazy power trip going on but, he thinks there’s more to their relationship than you realize and more than Caroline realizes. Caroline tells Rick he’s lashing out and Rick says – no, he’s moving on. He tells Caroline she betrayed him and now she’s suffering the consequences. Caroline tells him – that’s what this is about – you want me to suffer. Rick says he doesn’t care about Caroline’s feelings. Caroline says – your plan of getting me here to see the portrait of Maya worked – I’m hurt. She tells him if he wants to heal from this that shutting her out is not the way. They argue more and then Caroline tells him – we’re married, this does not have to be the end for us. We can get through this, all you have to do is break up with Maya, take the portrait down and come home – please. Rick leaves. Maya comes down the stairs and asks Caroline – to what does she owe the pleasure. Rick comes in the office where Liam and Ivy are. He talks to Ivy about postponing a meeting and tells Liam that he’ll send over anything else of Caroline’s he finds. Rick talks about living at the mansion peacefully together. Ivy brings up that kicking Aly and her out of the house was not a good place to start and Rick says – it was one night. Ivy tells Rick that everything he’s been doing lately – it tells her something… Rick stops her and says – it tells me something too – that Maya and I are together and you need to respect it. Ivy says – see it tells me that you still want to be with Caroline. Maya looks at the glass on the floor and asks what happened. Caroline tells her she broke it she was startled and points to the portrait. Maya says that she was surprised when she saw the picture. Caroline asks why she didn’t ask Rick to take it down and Maya says that she did. Caroline asks about Rick’s reputation – that Rick is married and he hangs a giant picture of his mistress in the Forrester home replacing Stephanie Forrester. Maya tells her that no one is replacing Stephanie. She says that Rick is adding his touch while they’re living there. Caroline tells her that Rick called her and wanted her to see the portrait there. Caroline tells Maya that verifies everything that she’s been thinking – this situation, is all for effect. He’s mad at me and if he thinks he hurts me enough – it will help him get through the pain. She tells Maya – I know you’re happy because you get to be queen of the castle and all your dreams are coming true but, when Rick snaps out of it – he’ll have no use for you and then what do you think is going to happen. Rick tells Ivy and Liam that Caroline betrayed him. Liam says – you’re still married, your feelings don’t disappear overnight. Rick tells them that they haven’t disappeared – they’ve evolved into something – like hate, anger and disappointment. Liam tries to convince Rick about Caroline and that Caroline regrets what happened with Ridge and she seems willing to forgive a lot worse from Rick. Rick tells them that you get one chance in life and why would he want to spend that with a woman who I could never fully trust, a woman clueless to my needs that she would turn to that man. No, I choose to live my life with somebody different and honest – who’s supportive of my needs and calls it like it is – that’s what Maya does for me. I never have to question her loyalty because I see it every time she looks in my eyes – she believes in me and after everything that Caroline’s put me through – that’s exactly what I need. Maya agrees that Rick is upset with Caroline because she betrayed and lied to him and fooled around with a man that Rick never trusted, his arch rival – so yes, he wants to hurt you. She tells Caroline – when Rick’s desire to punish you goes away – I’m not worried about where I stand because I know that his needs are simple. He wants support, appreciation and loyalty. You failed in that department and I am more than making up for it. I am the woman that Rick deserves. You think this picture ruins his reputation. Eric Forrester, Jr. has proven that he is the heir worthy of this home, the company and the family. He has the right to put up the picture of the one woman who’s given him the respect he deserves. She asks Caroline if Caroline appreciates all that Rick was doing for her, while she was posting selfies and kissing Ridge. She goes on to say that – you say it’s easy to see what this picture proves – that it’s all about you. She says maybe you should learn that life on this planet is not all about Caroline Spencer. If this picture proves anything, it proves that I am on track to being the next leader of this family. Caroline says – if this picture proves anything, it proves that Rick is doing anything to push his feelings for me away and that portrait does not make you the leader of this family. Maya says – no but, my actions will and my devotion to Rick will – becoming a wife he can count on. Caroline shouts – a wife? Maya says – yes, I will be Rick’s perfect partner. I will succeed where you failed. Here me and believe me Caroline. I will be the next Forrester matriarch.
