Equifit A,B,Cs A is for Alignment Which part of your body would you land on if your horse was taken out from underneath you? Your bum? Your nose? Your feet? Could you stay on if someone removed your saddle or your reins or both? Correct alignment is imperative for your body to function at its best & for you to be an effective & efficient rider. Alot of us will gaze upon Charlotte Dujardin for inspiration & so we should, as she clearly demonstrates this fact every time she steps into the arena. Unfortunately for our equine counterparts, riding with poor alignment is far too easy to do. Our reins, stirrups & saddles club together giving us the perfect excuse to not find neutral spine, engage our core or understand how our pelvis interacts with the movement of the horse. Pilates gives us the opportunity to enhance our body awareness, & work the areas of the body that might be weak or tight - allowing the rider to take responsibility for her own balance & body weight. Incorporating the Anky Free Rider into sessions removes the crutch effect that saddles, stirrups & reins supply - pelvis interaction is paramount! Taster sessions will be held Sat 3rd & Sun 4th Jan at East Lambrook Schoolroom. 6 people per class. Voucher holders please phone or PM me for a time - bring your vouchers as theyll be entered into a prize draw!
