You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.” James 1:2-4 (MSG) When an enemy has us backed into a corner, our natural response is to either scream for help or fight back. You may have been exhausting yourself praying for God to rescue you from the trouble in your life. Understand that God’s not going to always deliver you by swooping down and rescuing you. Another meaning of the word “deliver” is to equip for the fight. Thus far, you may have only played defense in your spiritual walk, but God wants to perfect your offensive skills. Let Him teach your hands to war and train your fingers for battle (Psalms 144:1)! Your spouse and loved ones are not your enemy. Your real enemy is Satan and his wicked devices. However, we are not to fight him because he is already defeated. Jesus rendered him powerless over 2,000 years ago. Until Jesus returns for us, we must fight the good fight of faith, fight to walk in love, fight to keep peace between ourselves and other believers, fight to win as many people to the Lord as we can, fight to complete our assignment on earth, and fight to endure to the end! Prayer: Father, You are mighty to save. Thank You for giving me everything I need to be victorious in my life. I receive Your strength to endure to the end and fulfill Your plan and purpose for me. Teach me how to use the tools You have given me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
