Erika’s Top Ten THM tips! “So, I reached my goal weight today. In this moment of exhilaration I wanted to jot down the top ten things I learned while on THM. I am not going anywhere however. This is for life! Stuff I have learned since starting THM. 1. Its good to have a mentor. She can help you determine what to add or subtract from your eating habits. She will remind you of how much God loves you. Her success will motivate you on. Her own failures will help you to realize that you won’t be perfect either and it’s OK. 2. Start out simple and enjoy eating fat without feeling guilty. 3. Keep it simple, but then start to try new things. 4. Don’t be discouraged if at first your cooking ends in utter failure. Try it again or try something different. 5. Alter a recipe if you don’t care for an ingredient or you don’t have it on hand. 6. Drink a lot of whatever it is you like that is on plan. For me it was limeade Good Girl Moon Shine in the summer and Shrinker in the winter. 7. When you go out to eat, plan to eat a heavy S and then enjoy it. 8. Check ingredients on the label. Junk hides everywhere. 9. Network and meet make new friends. Pick a few that are THM superstars and will inspire you. Pick a few that are struggling and need you to inspire them. 10. (Last for now, I am sure I’ll think of more!) If you mess up, find out why. Pray, think hard, backtrack, journal, whatever it is, find out what lead to you eating an entire bag of pork rinds! 10 ½. (I thought of one more!) For me, E meals were hardest to figure out, but I discovered I need to eat one everyday and not go more than two days without one. When I do, I sink into the energy abyss and it is not fun.) I am not going to give up trying to understand how to make a tasty E meal!
