Eritrea... is a country in the eastern part of Africa with neighbours like Sudan, Ethiopia and has a long coastline on the Red Sea. Since 2006 when they made a decision to grow their economy from within, hence rejecting millions of dollars of aid money and loans that other African countries like Ghana would JUMP at, there has been a hate campaign led by the United States of America .... It has been likened to North Korea and Cuba, which have achieved no mean feats either... ...despite the fact that China and some other now powerful Asian countries took the SAME ROAD AND FACED SIMILAR SANCTIONS... ...this is where i miss KOMLA DUMOR and what he started with the Africa Business report team.... ....it was through KOMLA DUMOR that i got to know that de beers (best in exploration, mining and marketing of diamonds) moved its headquarters to Gaborone, because of a strategic plan implemented by Botswana ( now citizens are involved in the mining, polishing etc,)..unlike Ghana and its gold and cocoa. One report i read says that Botswana is mostly free from externally enforced programs due to its wealth and conservative economic policy. the public sector is large and well paid. too... Komla Dumor also confirmed my suspicion(without saying so) that Paul Kagame, had probably been BAD MOUTHED many times BY THE WEST THROUGH ITS MEDIA.....Komla told of how well business was doing in RWANDA, a country with probably one of the most horrible war stories...now had arguably the neatest looking capital city and very very thriving business enterprises...mirror this against maybe Liberia( which is also trying)... ...so who will tell Eritreas positive stories? Why this hate campaign against a country of which the only sin was rejecting a few handouts from OPPORTUNISTS(check the trend, that is what they are... casualties include: Libya, Egypt,Iraq, Ghana, Cote dIvoire etc, check who now controls the resources)... ...donors have political and economic interests too... WHO IS FEEDING YOU WITH INFORMATION? WHAT IS THEIR MOTIVE? ...if Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, China, Botswana and co went a similar way Eritrea went and made it.... And oh, guess what natural resources Eritrea has?...gold, salt, potash, zinc, copper, oil, gas and fish...these are the major ones ooo...anyone surprised????...
