Espresso and I went on a 1-1/2 trail ride and he was awesome. We did trimming, crossed creeks, drug limbs and then a limb grabbed my hat and slung it off into the woods. I has so much trouble mounting without a mounting block but was not leaving my hat behind. I got off to get and told Espresso we were going to have to find somewhere for me to mount. While retrieving my hat espresso suddenly started off. There was no way for me to catch him. I yelled whoa and he continued to walk into the woods. All of a sudden he stopped and turned to look at me and then put his nose on a stump. Just the perfect height for me to mount with no problem. For a ride that I was dreading since he has been stalled due to his weight, he did amazing. He has been a brat at the shows lately and has not been the nicest in his stall but he always takes care of me and I know without a doubt he understands what I say to him.
