Essence of Epic We have been immersed in a long stream conversation concerning the essence of Epic, what exactly we intend to create, why exactly it will take form as what exactly it will become, how exactly it will become something truly beyond our imagination, beyond our past deliberation, beyond everything everyone is talking about on the net, scrambling about as we all are habituated to do, stuffy in the closet of our old minds, no matter how young we think we are, no matter how exhilarated our passions seem to be, no matter how hot our heads and hearts are, and our bodies along with them, no matter, that is what we have been deliberating, Chalk and Gerber, Gerber and Chalk, as we’re coming close to the beginning of the book, The Epic Entrepreneur, how Epic, we ask ourselves, do we dare to be? Will it be truly Epic, or simply outlandish? Will it truly break out of the confines of ye old conversation, or will it simply sound different? Will it truly test us beyond our comprehension, or will it simply pander to our narcissistic tendencies? How Epic is Epic truly, and how much do we control it? Is it a product of ourselves, or are we a product of Epic? We think the latter, and dread it. We think the latter, and are shivering in our boots as we wait for it to show up. We think the latter, yes, we know it, and we have no idea if we’ll be big enough to receive it. Our fear is, probably not. Our fear is, we’re just pikers on the corner. Our fear is, we spent all our change, and are scrambling around for dollars. Our fear is that Epic is not only beyond us, but beyond the freaking conversation. Our fear is that we’re much, much too afraid, and that you’re much, much too afraid as well. And even when you tell us, Chalk and Gerber, Gerber and Chalk, hey guys, whip it out, we’re ready, there’s not anything too big or bad or bewildering for us, we know you are simply chanting in the mine where the canary is sitting still, waiting for the noise to settle down, waiting for what’s coming, still as a yellow pot of flowers, swinging, swinging. Swinging. So, this is what we’re talking about, Chalk and Gerber, Gerber and Chalk. And it’s important for you all to know, no, it’s absolutely essential for you all to know, that we’ve DONE this before, the two of us. And it never started the way we thought it would. And it never ended the way we thought it would. And Epic just laughed, and laughed, and laughed, and it played us like a tambourine, making the most incredible music. It’s the music we’re waiting for, Chalk and Gerber, Gerber and Chalk, yes the music. Because without the music, Epic isn’t. And if Epic isn’t, there aint no music either.
