Esther 1:10-19… If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she” Summary of the Story King Ahasuerus organized a feast, got drunk and called the queeen to come and dance with him in public. The wife didn’t come. So the king asked the elders what should be done to the queen according to the constitution of Persia. These elders didn’t quote article from the constitution, but suggested out of their own mind what they thought should be done to the queen. And above is their recommended punishment- DIVORCE. Oh!! What injustice? Points to note 1. The elders didn’t know the law so the only option was to read their minds to the king. Because they have to certainly say something to the king. They must not be found wanting Lessons a. Where leaders ignore constitution, Injustice is inevitable. How many pastors victimize innocent church members without respect for the bible? Oh what about the lawyers, the ministers, M.P.s, Assemblymen. Where are the gold and the oil? b. The easiest way to be victimized is when you refuse to know the laws. So tell me why you will sit down another day without looking for the Bible and your national constitution. Citizens have become lazy goats, church members –lazy ceremonious house flies. They are everywhere calling pocket pastors- pray for me, pray for me (and soon play with me)!! If the queen had known the law herself, she would have challenged these crooked elders. Today is Saturday, what new thing will you do to add value to your life? Read your bible, get a story book and read. Times are changing we must move forward Wise quote You are only as young and relevant as what you know. As soon as you stop learning you are archaic, and irrelevant and too old no matter your age. Solution Know something about everything that concerns you. Be a student of life. Don’t be too big or too small to learn. Start from today!!! (Psalm 119) A Prayer for you. Any injustice working against you through ignorance, may you rise up, know the word of God and break out in Jesus name!
