Eszter Spat (PhD 09, Medieval Studies) discusses her research on Yezidi religion, as told through a documentary shot in Northern Iraq. Spats research was funded by the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund and the Gerda Henkel Foundation. In her documentary, Following the Peacock, Spat offers contextual information about Iraqi Yezidis and follows one of their sacred rituals. Due to the impact of modernization, this tradition is disappearing.
