Gov’t deploys Israel trained spies ESAT News July 2, 2013 Over 987 new Ethiopian Intelligence officers that have been trained at the Tel-Arad Negev Training Station in Israel have been deployed to various Mosques throughout Ethiopia and EthioTelecom, ESAT’s sources within the Ethiopian National Intelligence and Security Service said. The 572 have been positioned in mosques. The 631 recruits hail from the Tigray region. Most of them are graduates of the 2010 Ethiopian academic year. Only 11 of them are Muslims while the rest are from different religious groups but are fluent in Arabic, are also Quran educated and can practice Islam. The remaining trainees have been position at the EthioTelecom and will be engaged in tapping and hacking telephone calls. The new recruits in EthioTelecom have been assigned to find out government ministers that have been using telephone lines in addition to the ones that the government gave them. Accordingly, they have identified that Dr. Tedros Adhanom, the Ethiopian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Keseteberhan Admasu, Health Minister, Muktar Kedir, Minister of Civil Service, Kebede Chane, Trade Minister, Ambassador Berhane GebreKirstos, State Minister of Foreign Affairs and Shimeles Kemal, State Minister of Government Affairs Communication Bureau, have been found using extra telephones in addition to the ones that they were given by the government. The conversations of these officials have been recorded and transferred to the National Intelligence and Security Service main office by Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael, Deputy PM and Minister of Communications and Information Technology. ESAT will reveal the full names and biography of the 987 agents to the public when it finds it necessary.
