European Tour The Perth International on the European Tour was significant in that it was the final counting event for those at the bottom of the order of merit hoping to retain their cards for the 2015 season. Thorbjorn Olesen took the tournament win in commanding fashion with rounds of 64, 69, 67 and 71 bringing to 30 the number of rounds of 72 or better he has now shot in a row. However possibly the happiest man in Perth was David Drysdale. Starting the week in 116th spot on the Order Of Merit (with the top 111 retaining their cards) the Scot needed to two putt on the final hole to secure his playing rights for next season. Instead, he drained the 30 footer to finish the tournament in a tie for fourth and jump up to 103rd in the rankings. Lee Slattery was the man who finished in the unlucky 112th spot. PGA Tour On the PGA Tour the low key wraparound 2015 season continued with Robert Streb winning a three-way playoff in the McGladrey Classic. Playing well before the leading pairings, Streb shot a stunning 7-under 63 in the final round to shoot up the leaderboard and then sit tight to see if he would be caught. Will MacKenzie and Brendon de Jonge did but then Streb took the win by birdieing the second playoff hole at Sea Island. It was the 27-year-old from Oklahoma’s first win on Tour and means he will tee it up in his first ever Major, The Masters, next April. Shot of the day was Streb’s 33 foot birdie putt on 17 in regulation play. Defending champion Chris Kirk was among a group tied for fourth.
