Even more trivia – “Lolliwinks” children’s album I was contacted by a Facebook friend (the 2nd to do so), wondering if I was the same Tamblyn of the “Lolliwinks” fame. Yes, in 1981 I was hired by then K-tel Records to created a children’s album. I came up with the concept, wrote, produced, and performed on the album, plus wrote, produced & was the voice-over talent for the national TV commercial, which ran on CBS TV. It was quite a challenge, because I had to sing in each character’s voice (including that of Farfi who is female). I produced the music in London, and then flew back to the states to do the voices, which was real tricky. To get the animated feel, I sang to the multi-track tape running a three-quarters speed, and then had to speed it back up to listen. Voice inflections, consonants, etc. had to be over-emphasized to be understood at full speed. Also the vibrato on my voice had to be slowed down, so that that it sounded normal when listened to a regular speed. Like many of the Standells songs and albums, The Lolliwinks has quite a cult following. You can listen to ALL OF THE SONGS IN THE ALBUM by doing a YouTube search on “Lolliwinks”. -Larry https://youtube/watch?v=w7VAGWaqD1o
