Even on my day off, I felt compelled to write a little something to commemorate the life of Mickey Rooney, who sadly passed away on Sunday, at the grand old age of 93. He was born in 1920, before network radio even became popular, and his career was phenomenal, spanning over nine decades. He appeared on radio, in movies, tv shows, and plays - and he literally worked in show business his whole life, just recently completing his last movie role in the latest instalment of Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller. In the golden age of radio, Mickey Rooney will be best remembered for his role in the series, The Hardy Family, a situation comedy based on the famous Andy Hardy motion pictures from the 1930s, and which reflected the common joys and tribulations of the average family in wholesome, small town America. I wanted to keep this short, but you can read the full article and listen to over 30 shows starring Mickey Rooney on the RUSC website. rusc
