Even staff pets need to see the emergency vet once in a while! On December 31 2014, Cora, a 7 month old yellow lab owned by one of our office staff, was not feeling well. She was brought in and we did some radiographs that were interpreted by the radiologist, Dr. Bratton from Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital. It was determined that surgery was needed in order to remove an intestinal blockage. Cora was induced, prepped and moved to surgery. Dr. Parker was successful in removing the clothing that was stuck and Cora is well on her way to recovery. It will be approximately 2 weeks before she is back to her old self, but her owner is very thankful for her co-workers who spent their night taking care of Cora on New Years Eve! She is also thankful for pet insurance!
