Even the most perfect parents(if they even exist) can make this mistake. I myself have left Wyatt in the car in our driveway for 5 mins as a newborn and Ben and I both left Mia in the car after unloading groceries for a few minutes because we each thought the other person brought her in. Do one thing to remind yourself that your child is in the car with you. Now My children are the first thing I take out of the car before anything else. Hang something from your car door or mirror to remind you that your child is in the car. Just one time is all it takes. I know now how much sleep deprivation and exhaustion can change your brain and make you forget the simplest of things. Autopilot kicks in and you just forget. Children should not have to go they that kind of hell. Just a couple of months ago a friend and I called the police because we found a baby alone in a parked vehicle. Even of you plan on just being a minute in a store grab your baby/child. It shouldnt be a burden to take then in with you. Cherish your babies and protect them.
