I am flipping through channels and I keep noticing how society continues to classify the beauty of African American women based on outward physical attributes that seem to overshadow our ethnic appeal. Whether in commercials, sit coms or in movies, the standard appearance of the black woman representing success and beauty is that of fair skin, long hair and small in frame.
