Even though I cant stay too long as the heat is getting me exhausted, I found the coolest spot with a little river and after school I go there with Isadora and we build the best childhood memories for her.. Who knew that some of her best memories would be when I was sick?... Making lemonade out of lemons I guess... When we are at the river I tell Isadora all the stories when I was a kid.. In the summer we would go and wash all the clothes and rugs in the river... I so miss those days... It was a lot of responsibility for me as a kid to be in charge of the laundry for the entire household and honestly I was Isadoras age so I cant even imagine how I was so strong and responsible at such a young age...But even though I remember that my hands were so tired and I had blisters from washing the clothes by hand and on a washing board, looking back I can see how much I learned from even the most painful memories. I didnt have an easy childhood, but because of that things are so much easier now. The people in the city called us peasants and that bothered me for a long time, but the truth is yes we were peasants, and I didnt go to any fancy schools but from living among simple, humble but full of old wisdom people I learned so much more about life than any schools could teach me.. Im glad I can share these stories with Isadora and be able to create some care free memories from the most ordinary things. Lately, Ive been teaching her to do skipping stones.. Still havent lost the touch for that. Isadora keeps asking me to tell her more and more stories from when I was a little girl so when she is at school I started writing down some of the things about my childhood. I will share some of the stories with you in some blog posts. I hope one day I can have a book Isadora can read about my life, about how hard it was to grow up during the communist, but how I never gave up. Somehow I was able to take the lemons and make lemonade... Just like we have been doing the last few months...
