Even though I have been complaining a bit this week about not - TopicsExpress

Even though I have been complaining a bit this week about not having any free time due to working and school, I just have to say how thankful and blessed I am. I have been subbing since last Thursday. I have a sub job lined up for tomorrow, Friday, and a couple days in the following weeks. After leaving my job in May and not working for three months, I have kind of looked down on myself because I felt like I was not contributing. After I left my job, my family started an expediting business and my parents put me in charge the office. Basically that means I do payroll every Wednesday, file EVERYTHING, make bank deposits and run other errands. By doing this I made enough money each week to put gas in my car and maybe buy minimal extras. But there was one thing I wasnt doing: tithing. As college graduation came closer, I was praying for God to bless me with a job as a paraprofessional in a school. All the time I spent praying was counterproductive. I wanted God to bless my finances, but I wasnt blessing Him with my finances (makes sense, right? God wont go where you wont let him). Long story short, after countless applications and only two interviews I did not get blessed with a para job. Even though I had some income, I still wasnt tithing. I had the mindset that if I give God this 10%, then thats X amount of money I wont have for the week. After I came back from youth, I started to feel really convicted about it. Im not sure how soon it was, but after that I started making it a point (to myself) to tithe. Jump three months and here we are in September. Even though I did not get the job that I wanted and subbing was my fall back, I am incredibly blessed with each and every opportunity I have to fill in for a teacher. I get to see different types of classes, see a huge diversity in learning, and I get to network with other teachers to get my name out there for when I become a certified teacher. And in the few times that I have subbed, I have made more money than I would have made in an entire month of working my old job. Im not bragging about what I am making or the cool things I get to do. I am bragging on my God because through my faithfulness in giving, He has shown His faithfulness. If you get anything out of this, understand this: even if you make under minimum wage, tithe. God will bless and multiply the small amount that you give in ways that you cannot even fathom. Just look at the widows offering in Mark 12:41-44. #TithingWorks #CantReapWhatYouDontSow
