Even though I have been on the receiving end of many awards, I have a feeling that most awards, these days, are just a list of names and an array of impulsively designed statuettes. And I admit that attending award nites has become an occupational hazard and a you solemnly invite-i obligingly come exercise for many including me. And, every month, there are at least four award nites charted, and satellite rights sold thereof. Why is it that every award list has 50+ categories? Have awards become totally commercialised? Are they still a measure of how good a creative person one is? Is there any award, today, that is free of agenda? Are Awards free home decor? Which are the awards that are authentic, in your opinion? Please comment.
