Even though Im is running unopposed for re-election to the House - TopicsExpress

Even though Im is running unopposed for re-election to the House District 4 seat, the summer has provided a steady mix of campaigning and legislating to go along with life on the ranch. Today I appeared in my 11th Platte County Fair Parade in the past 13 years. Lynn and son Mick were my worthy assistants. Campaigning has often been a family affair for us, and Ive always valued the support and help from the rest of the crew. (Gus, the beagle, even walked in the 12 State Fair Parade you will recall). An unseen activity involves filling out questionnaires for various interest groups. In the interest of transparency Ive responded to 15 groups who typically post the results on their web sites for their members to review. Twice Ive travelled to Douglas for Republican gatherings, and well be there Tuesday night for the Farm Bureau forum and again on the 16th for a State Fair appearance. About 15% of my district lies in Converse County including a portion of Douglas. Then last week I spent parts of three days in Cheyenne at my first Management Audit Committee meeting. I was appointed to this committee in February to replace deceased colleague Rep. Sue Wallis. I found the topics extremely interesting (the workings of the Univ. of Wyoming, Childhood Development Centers and the state Enterprise Technology (IT) Division). I plan to seek reappointment to this select committee in the fall. Theres more coming at us in the next month not the least of which is the Republican Primary Aug. 19th. Ill appreciate your vote of confidence that day. Well write again soon to catch things up.
