Even though its slow, tonight is a beautiful night for what may be my last afternoon bowhunt of the year. Although I havent tagged out on a buck this year, Ive had some great encounters on the ground and in the stand with some future shooters, as well as cool run in with an exceptional buck. Unfortunately the shot he gave me just wasnt right for a bow. I have been blessed to fill a couple doe tags and enjoy what may be the most beautiful time of year here in Iowa. Archery season is such a unique form of hunting that allows you to become closer to Gods creation than any other activity I know. For those of you who tagged out on a buck this year, congrats! For those of you that had this season not go as planned like me, dont base your season on whats in the back of your truck. The hunt, experience, and close encounters are a blessing of their own! Im now looking forward to letting the ol muzzleloader bark in a few weeks! God is so good and I cant wait to see the blessings he has in store for the gun season! Enjoy the hunt friends. Thats what its all about!
