Even though technology is futile, it is our only chance. This segment begins with a Saturn V, which never failed, and which is why two are left over. It cuts to an Atlas (Mk II I think) which were mass produced, and did have their tragic moments. The only substantial piece was the engine, which the tracking camera dutifully follows.
