Even us guys that have chosen to not have kids are not free of the perpetual When are you two gonna start having kids?. I used to describe how and why it wasnt really in the cards for Melissa and I, and 99% of the time, the reply was something to the effect of Oh but theyre just so precious, youll change your mind soon enough. After 15 years of happy marriage and no kids, Ive had about enough of the crap. The response to the queries now is a quick and blunt Never!. It works, either the questioner is too appalled by my response and walks away, or the subject gets changed entirely. I have zero issue with folks that want to have kids. Im sure you love your kids and strive to raise them to the best of your ability. Thats superlative, but dont treat me like an outcast because I do not fall in line with your thoughts and beliefs about how my life with my family should be conducted. Thank you.
