Even with Robin Williams bringing mental illness into the forefront I think it is still widely misunderstood and not taken seriously. Mental illness is like any other illness and needs to be treated the same way any other illness would be. Unless you have experienced it yourself it is hard to understand how debilitating it can be. I have suffered and I am currently suffering. I have been ashamed for years about it and still do but decide to share so people would better understand where I am coming from and why I get as upset as I do many days
