Event Planning and Management Pre-event management Determine event location and target audience (e.g. UWS, Heights, ages 25-39, modern) Develop event committee and organizations to partner with Find hosts for meal and dessert as well as sponsors to cover costs of dessert and host gifts Vet participants and assign to hosts Ensure that timely communications are sent to all applicants indicating if they have been accepted to the event or were unable to be placed. On-going communication and relationship development with committee, synagogues, sponsors and hosts and participants will be key. Develop public relations response to overflow applicants Post Event Management Immediately follow up with hosts and participants to identify possible dates Work with matchmakers to make sure that needed date follow up is done Send survey and call participants to obtain feedback and identify what we did right and wrong Marketing and Publicity · Marketing and outreach- Oversee advertising to singles, hosts, synagogues and event partners through multiple mediums including facebook, committee members, hosts, partners, emails (SYAS, YUConnects and others) etc. · Pre- and post-event publicity with the press. Strategy and Development · Process flow improvement and Computer System improvement- Key component to quick, yet accurate meal planning and follow up, is a smooth process and an effective computer system o Identifying improvements to the flow of the program planning o Determine needed computer system improvements to make to improve ease of event planning · Strategizing for increased outreach to new audiences and communities; · Collect and maintain data on all events to track effectiveness of the program. Community Relations · Develop relationships with Rabbis, key community participants, and sponsors · Ongoing meetings and phone calls to update program progress and consult on new ideas Job Requirements: Ability to work independently, to manage multiple tasks, and to pay close attention to detail. Superior organization skills necessary. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a wide array of individuals (singles, hosts, matchmakers and external constituencies); computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite required); experience managing events. Occasional support for evening and weekend events may be necessary. Start Date: September 26, 2013 Ideal Hours: Part Time Monday – Thursday, 2 hours on Friday, Meetings/ Conference calls sometimes occur in evening.
