Events like the 2014 Melbourne to Vanuatu yacht race and rally, would not be possible without the remarkable assistance from many dedicated volunteers. The Race/Rally Management Team for the 2014 Melbourne to Vanuatu (and a very brief description of their roles), includes: Principal Race Officer (PRO): Simon Dryden duty Race Directors (dRD): Rik Head, Ray Shaw, Don Fraser and Bob Tanner. These guys have a roster and maintain 24/7 watch on the fleet. They are our first point of contact with the fleet. Communication with the fleet is via Satellite phone voice and sms, email and HF marine radio. Principal Medical Officer: Dr Rosie Colahan duty Medical Officers: Lou Irving and Marnie Irving These medicos also have a roster and are on-call 24/7 to liaise with the fleet regarding any medical issues that may arise. Incident Management Team (IMT): Rik Head, Lynda Brayton, Ray Shaw, Don Fraser and Bob Tanner. The IMT are also on-call to manage any incidents that may arise, including liaison with crew Next-of-Kin back home if required. Weather monitoring: Robin Hewitt and Andrew Roberts. Media: Neville Rose and David Taylor Race Administration: Sally Williams and Janet Clarke ORCV Office personnel.
