Ever since the day I started djn in venues, clubs and parties Ive been in search of a welcoming spot which is open to music like Aesop Rock, Masta Ace, De La Soul, J Dilla, Atmosphere, Blu, Lone Catalysts, Little Brother, A Tribe Called Quest, Swollen Members, Jay Electronica, Gangstarr, Xzibit, People Under The Stairs, Blueprint, Brother Ali, Dead Prez, The Roots, Jungle Brothers, Smif N Wessun, Madlib, Eternia, Leaders Of The New School, The Procussions, MOP, Necro, Freestyle Fellowship, Talib Kweli, Spinna etc etc! I slip some of it in the mix when Im spinning at shows and parties...but its always met with confused looks and resentment! I understand its a club and people want to dance, but I feel that there is still so much to be heard than your everyday wobble, cupid shuffle, cha cha slide, cumbia and on n on!
