Ever wonder how they lay the pipe for a geothermal system? For the one we are having Blaze Air do for us it involves 2-400 ft trenches several feet wide and about 7 feet deep. The salesman described the way this was going to appear as looking like your backyard exploded. Then for this 4 ton system you put in 4-loops of pipe (3200 ft of pipe) which are filled with an environmentally friendly antifreeze solution and routed to your pump center and heat pump. This is supposed to be the most efficient heating and cooling system there is. Since our old furnace was removed today I hope this new system will be functioning before the big freeze hits us! Hopefully the Rockingham County inspector will make a better effort to stop by tomorrow so the trenches can be backfilled. Our dogs will certainly be hoping to get back to normal soon as well.
