Ever wondered how the cold weather impacts your running? Temperatures at freezing (32F/0C) may increase your pace by only 1-2% per mile. However, at colder temperatures, the impact becomes more noticeable: At 20F / -7C expect a 3-4% increase in your pace; At 10F / -12C expect a 5-6% increase; At 0F / -18C expect a 8-9% increase. Bottom line: dont worry too much if you cant hit your usual pace at workouts in very cold temperatures. Stay warm, hydrated, and listen to your body.
