Every Labor UNION is built upon the human desire to accept and give compassion. Some, but not all human beings cannot bear, nor tolerate, nor consent to a world where children go to bed hungry; a world where slavery exists in any form; a world where people die in pain and agony, needlessly, for lack of adequate health care.; a world where the elderly live in poverty. And so it is that there are UNIONS of people. We organize to try protect ourselves and others in society from the cruel, ruthless wolves. Yes, there are those among us who seem to have no emotion for the suffering in our world and they gather as much wealth and power as possible. That is their protection. Their lack of empathy is often astonishing and brutal. And so, my friends, we must persuade those we come in contact with to be a part of something greater than themselves. We must vote, organize, and become actively involved and then we will make a compassionate difference in our world.
