: Every Monday, Im going to try and put up my Movie of the Week. The only thing that is required to make my list is that I enjoyed the movie. It doesnt have to be Oscar Bait, it just has to be a movie that I sat down and enjoyed. So, without further ado, heres the first one: Slingers Movie of the Week: The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou youtu.be/yh401Rmkq0o Directed by Wes Anderson, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is about, well, Steve Zissou, an eccentric oceanographer who sets out on an adventure to exact revenge on the Jaguar Shark that ate his friend and partner, Esteban. While thats the story on the surface, but like most of Wes Andersons movies, its about family. Its Steves story to try and bond with his, may or may not, son, Ned. Every shot in this movie feels like it has been lovingly crafted by Wes Anderson. When you watch it, you feel like everything has been built from the ground up. Truly wonderful to watch. Special call out to Willem Dafoe, who absolutely rules in this movie. If youre not a fan of his character, Klaus, at the end of it, then there is something wrong with you.
