Every Sunday, I read how awesome and amazing all of our Christian worship services were at our various churches. I read all the accolades and I am thankful to see so many! But today, for some reason, I have wondered if God evaluates our services the same way that we have. Maybe it came about because I see our service reviews along side of all our other posts about everything else we enjoy...sports, shopping, concerts, meals, etc. Stepping back from the spirited cheering, I know that we have all read the biblical passages where God judged worship and found it either detestable OR pleasing. We know that He seeks, sifts, weighs what we bring. I want to be more than cognizant that God is weighing me and my offering each week. I want to know it prior to, during, and after the service. I want to feel the weight of His holy expectation as I sing, declare, proclaim, and chant words of meaning. I want to be fearful while I am thankful. I want to sing, pray, think, feel, and express in means that cost me.
