Every morning I go to lifejournal.cc and read my passages for the day. I preface it with a prayer asking God to give me the text of the day for my life and then ask Him to help me apply it. I then journal about the passage that He gives me. This morning I was reading the prophet Joel. The people were lamenting of a famine caused by locusts, when God promised them restoration. The Lord would replace that that was missing. However, He also promised something much greater: You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is no one else...Joel 2.27. Whatever you are going through today- whether it is the loss of a loved one, the loss of an election, a serious surgery pending, a child going wild, a marriage going sour or a diagnosis destroying, the greatest hope that we have this morning is the steady, strong presence of a Living Lord that is in the midst. Dont you dare let the trivial of this world, no matter how weighty, take your eyes off the main thing...the Main One...the One in the Midst...may you find your peace in Him today...no matter your storm.
