Every once in while I just fall in love with a musicians approach to a particular style. Ive been studying Brazilian Choro for well over a year now. I got into it because I think there is a similarity to klezmer music in that its technical AND you need to be able to play the tune. The music is very technical and you need a lot of honed technique to play it, but it always has to sound light and unburdened. Alexandre Ribeiro, does this like crazy good on this video. He rocks, his band rocks the video rocks. I just love this tune. I think Bobby B Betlejewski and I should play this tune at Phillips on Friday! oh yea and points for having a microphone that is color coordinated with the color of his clarinet. Even I dont have a matching Red and Gold mic to go with my Cocobolo/gold Backun clarinets.
