Every school day throughout the USA and territories, professional statistics say that more than 2000 school age American sons and daughters are struck with wooden boards by US government-funded employees referred to as educators (this excludes those sons and daughters struck during all hours of the day who are placed in youth residential facilities and juvi-halls where they also attend school). Additionally, this maltreatment reportedly occurs every four minutes to the point where emergency medical treatment becomes necessary for schoolchildren and teenagers targeted for this scandal.* Switches are used routinely in American schools and a host of other similar objects.** A visual of such beatings is found in the recent case of the football coach, the switch and the small boy. Perhaps the unfortunate horrific beating received by the little American boy will be why attention will be given to the fact that this practice occurs routinely in USA schools--Ive heard of, on my campaign travels to dozens of US pupil-beating school districts, that fan belts and gym belts are a favorite in Mississippi schools. Indeed, it takes an important persons name or position being attached to such a story for it to be broadcasted on mainstream media in America. A federal bill to ban the practice is available. If this bill continues to receive little to zero attention, its current status, from John Kline, US Education Committee Chairman, we the people and mainstream media, America will begin to spiral downward harder and faster than ever beginning January 3, 2015.
