Every so often, I am asked to create a training video and I am humbled to do so, because I have NO formal training as a GSD trainee, nor do I claim to be. I happen to have a knack with animals, and being owned by GSDs for many years now, I understand the Breed well. Today, I shot two fun videos, so you can see my Alpha Male and Pack Leader Spirit in action. I will post both so you can see his cute side vs his serious side as well. He is a joy and a blessing as he also happens to be a carbon copy of my first purebred Wolfie. He helped me thru a very dark time of loss in my Life and together, he and his brother Summit just love me beyond measure. As I told the ladies yesterday, when I train my own doggies as well as the rescues I have the honor to work with and foster, I do not use treats but a toy or hand as well as verbal commands. The ultimate goal in my training is to have a disciplined yet loving dog not programmed because of the receipt of a treat, but to have a dog actually want to do the action because he wants to please his Pack Leader. In turn, he shares his knowledge with the Pack and Fosters. Its a fun thing to see the joy (watch his tail) as he does each action. Also, in this video watch his hamming it up for the Camera! He is a love and goofy. Just like his Mom!
