Every song has its own story. This one started back in 2008, when I had just bought a Roland SH-201 that was so covered in cat dust that I got an allergic reaction from playing with it. Having cleaned it up I got inspired to try to see if I could do a tune similar to the style of Jean-Michel Jarre. The result, Pulsar, was more similar to Jarres style than what I expected to be able to achieve. I dont know if it was the sound of the synth or the fact that I had started listening to Jarre again and collected his vinyls at that time. Most likely both. So when I started choosing and recording tunes for the To Jupiter and Back album I wasnt sure what to do with Pulsar. After all I decided to include the tune and re-recorded it with analog synths only. So Pulsar is partly the reason, why I decided to turn TJaB into a tribute album, meaning that instead of trying to sound dissimilar from my inspirations I embraced that sound and style wholeheartedly. youtu.be/gXsvhXRdh74
