Every time I pass through the slums of Kiawara and Majengo, I find - TopicsExpress

Every time I pass through the slums of Kiawara and Majengo, I find groups of idle young men and women. They gather around some shebeens, drunk and smoking marijuana. Others chew khat. Even in the morning, youll find some of them stoned or high as a kite on cheap hard liquor, not giving a damn about what is going on in their World. In their makeshift houses made of wood offcuts or mud, they play loud music, and youll hear babies who have been drugged to sleep crying once the drugging effect has worn off. It is a sorry state. Crime is recurrent there. And those young jobless men venture out in the evening (or at night) to commit other serious crimes like robbery and robbery with violence. The young women are habitués in nearby clubs where they sell their bodies. Tunaomba serikali ya jubilee isaidie! I didnt hear President Uhuru squarely and adequately address that issue in his The State of the Nation address yesterday. Just an observation.
