Every week, the Professional Development office offers workshops that can benefit graduate and professional students. Heres what theyve got going on this upcoming week! Bring Your Laptop: Start Your Federal Job Search When: MONDAY, JAN. 27 @ 4-5:30pm Where: 239A/B Hanes Hall The federal government is the largest employer in the U.S. With nearly 20,000 job openings at a time, your background may be just right for some of them. Any major may be considered for positions in public affairs, writing and editing, claims examining, civil rights, environmental protection, purchasing, personnel, and many more. Some openings require graduate degrees. A guided search of usajobs.gov will be included, so bring your laptop to identify agencies and job titles that fit your skills. How to Apply to Teach for America When: WEDNESDAY, JAN. 29 @ 3-4pm Where: 239B Hanes Hall Learn how to prepare application essays as well as how to interview for Teach for America.
