Every year, drunk drivers take more lives than intentional - TopicsExpress

Every year, drunk drivers take more lives than intentional killers. Teenage drunk drivers represent the classic “multiple risk to self and others” paradigm. For many years, my brother Mike McNamara has been personally intervening in this, engaging those most likely to create this risk, and SAVING LIVES. Please, WATCH THIS VIDEO: vimeo/69133817. You can see it online or download it for later viewing. This program is not staged, not rehearsed, and 100% real -- as real as the tragedy and horror of teenage drunk driving itself. Licensed For Life accepts and acknowledges that teenagers will drink when they are in groups ... and meets the issue head-on. It’s *showing,* not explaining. And it’s conducted by a master at involving teenagers in what they ALL know to be a critical issue. Mike cannot conduct classes in every classroom. But he *can* present this course, provided you can get teenagers to *take* it by watching this one video, approximately the length of a high-school class. Consider this: (1) Insurance companies know that even one drunk-driving teenager can cost them millions, so they give discounts to parents whose teenagers are covered under their policies if the teens complete Drivers’ Ed. That course teaches driving skills, but it has no impact on driving decisions. WHY WOULDN’T INSURANCE COMPANIES GIVE A *GREATER* DISCOUNT TO PARENTS WHO HAVE THEIR TEENAGERS TAKE THIS CLASS? (2) Find me a teenager in America who *isn’t* accustomed to the idea of taking classes online. Now why can’t you sit down and watch this class *with* your teenagers? Watch their reaction ... you might just see a life being saved, right then and there. (3) In a teenage culture where to “party” means to “get high,” are we going to just shrug our collective shoulders ... or are we going to PASS THIS ON? (4) PTAs are exhausted from hearing how much money *they* have to raise just to provide students with books and pencils. WHY CAN’T THE HEAD OF EVERY PTA IN AMERICA CIRCULATE THIS FREE ONLINE CLASS TO EVERY MEMBER? (5) Why can’t *all* the PTAs join together and DEMAND that *all* insurance companies give a discount to all parents who arrange for their children to take this class? Not at home, *in* a classroom. (6) If *one* major insurance company recognizes the *financial* value of providing discounts to parents whose teenagers take this one-class course, word will spread. And people will switch their coverage to that company. How long it would take the *other* companies to follow suit?
