Every year the British government spends 600 millions euros on BBC - TopicsExpress

Every year the British government spends 600 millions euros on BBC World Service (the international propaganda branch of the BBC). And, every week, that World Service reaches 96 millions people in Africa, the biggest audience for the channel. Now Ask yourself, why would the British government spend 600 millions euros EVERY YEAR on informing African people? Every year France spends 273 millions euros in 3 international propaganda medias: Radio France Internationale (RFI), France 24 and TV5. Again, ask yourself, why would the French government spend 273 millions euros EVERY YEAR on informing African people? The answer is simple. Because There Is A War On Your Mind! As George Orwell put it: “The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” “We become slaves the moment we hand the keys to the definition of reality entirely over to someone else, whether it is a business, an economic theory, a political party, the White House, Newsworld or CNN.” ~B.W. Powell What can we do about all this? I’ve started SiliconAfrica 3 years ago with the firm intention to bring new perspective to African narrative, but also to empower a new generation of Africans with a higher level of awareness about the world in which we live. As our fore-builder Steve Biko warned us, “The most powerful weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed” I’ve put in my money, and dedicated countless hours to write articles. Any single article you read on SiliconAfrica takes 3 to 5 hours to be completed after the story has been researched. I personally write from 2 to 3 articles a week. No one is paid for writing for SiliconAfrica, all the work is done benevolently. With that dedication, SiliconAfrica became the most influential blog in Africa during the last 12 months, and every day we reach several thousands of African entrepreneurs, activists and Africans in the diaspora. And some our articles have been translated into Lingala, Swahili, Chinese, Japanese, French, and Arabic. Our goal nowadays is to continue this work but bigger, better and stronger, with the purpose to cover more countries in Africa and subjects. But, for doing so, we need your help. I’m asking you to make today a donation to SiliconAfrica to help us continue. We certainly don’t have the millions of euros of UK and France, but together we can start a movement that could make a big difference. “It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds..” – Samuel Adams “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. – Martin Luther King If you believe in what we are doing, and you want to help us continue, contribute to our indiegogo campaign.
