Every year....when I return home from Priest Lake I feel the need to explain why I take this vacation and why I have gone for over 30 years of my life. Where else can you go where your cell phone doesnt work unless you are at a certain spot at the resort, 2 weeks of time with your family, water skiing every morning at 7 and not complaining about getting up early, part of the budget includes peanuts for the squirrels, 28 miles hiked by myself in total quiet and thankful I did not see a bear, beer before noon, loud poker nights, huckelberry daquiris, lightening storms, connecting with the people that go at the same time every year, 4 books read, family dinners every night, read the comics in the newspaper, watching our Priest Lake family grow every year with new people invited who now know the feeling of the lake, huckelberry crisp, champagne, no tv, puzzles, no injuries from tubing, jet ski fuel costs about as much as the cabin, the hope of moose sightings, paddle boarding, floatie island, death of another tube, did I mention no tv and now cell phones. So when people think I take a lot of vacations, my family has had alot of pain and death its had to deal with and I make my family a priority. My kids have all gone to Elkins Resort on Priest Lake since they were born....They would choose this vacation over going anywhere in the world. This is called family time....this is priceless.....and money cant buy the feeling.....only the lake gives you the feeling.
