Everybody Must Get Stones Pt. 4: So far, not bad. Thanks to my Affordable Care Act Insurance we are proceeding with all the pretesting that goes into surgery prep. Next Tuesday they will blast out the 6.5 MM Calcium RV currently broke down somewhere on Urethra Drive. I am looking forward to Ellas tomorrow night and my show on Friday. Also, Walt Belcher, music writer for The Tampa Tribune, is doing a feature piece on me for the Weekender. First press Ive had in a while, stay tuned for that. Meanwhile, due to the unbearable pain Ive had to take some of those pills (Vicodin and Percocet) in the past week . Shit. They work just fine. Too fine. They not only kill pain, but they feeel real goo.I Really, really really goo. , goooey, good. I cant help it, its in my wiring. If you are wired the same way, youve ridden this merry -go-round as well, if not, lucky you. We Opiate dependents call it Chasing the Dragon. I know, it sounds like a Flaming Volcano or one of those lethal drinks they make in Chinese Restaurants, but its just a nice way to describe the lengths an addict will go to... It doesnt happen withe the first one, but usually withing the first twenty or so pills, I can feel the switch get thrown, and then its on. Its kind of like spending the night with an old boyfriend/girlfriend just released from a mental ward, you just should not be doing this, but it just feels so good, Anyway- I feel really, really, really good for an hour, then ok for another hour or two, and by hour three. Im starting to watch the clock. They tell us to never lose respect for the power of addiction. Respect ? It scares the shit out of me, In the past, physical injuries like this have often triggered some painful long term spells of dependency and reptile chasing. This time however, using generic Buprenorphine and some 4/20 edibles, I am able to at least keep the dragon in his cave, while bring aware that hes awake Ive called recovering buddy/ sponsor types, let others know whats going on, and written about it. Im hoping my experiences can help others with similar wiring to no longer see ourselves as faulty units or morally inferior, just wired different. Anyway, I am stunned at how short a time it takes for my system to grab onto those Opiods and awaken that old fire breathing Iguana. To be continued.....
