Everyday I see little children dropped off by their parents to this place Ive been called to work at. I see the lonelyness and confusion and frustration as they try and cope with this placement where there are 5 kids or more to one care provider. This is so detrimental to child development. Mothers dont seem to bat an eye at placing their children into the care of complete strangers for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week and many of them are so busy on their cell phone they dont even greet their child when they pick them up. There is a total lack of nuturing and many many rules where the children are constantly being restricted. When the child develops a close relationship then that relationship is suddenly gone as staff changes and kids come and go. Being a stay at home mom is not recognized as a respected profession anymore and so mothers are going to work and leaving their children in the hands of people they dont even know. This is very unhealthy and hard on children. They often tell me they want to go home and they want their mom. Many of the children are very confused and call me mom and the parents shift uncomfortably when picking their child up and the child clings to me. Its so sad that Satan is breaking down Gods healthy design for women in the home as mothers. How can a child be raised properly when so many different people are raising it? Its no wonder mothers have no control over their childrens behavior. Not only do the mothers lose the childs trust but they miss out on valuable time with their child during their developmental stages. I have seen daycare workers be so ignorant to children its absolutely appalling. And people wonder why their child rebels as a teen. May there be a revival in this city to help these little children cope.
