More About Adinkra NOLAs Philosophy: Many students and parents feel trapped in schools where high-stakes testing and antiquated curricula and methods are the norm. Students must be prepared to enter the world as self-starting critical thinkers who can navigate and create a modern world. We have named our institution “Adinkra NOLA” (NOLA=New Orleans). Adinkra literally means “saying good-bye (farewell) to the dead” in Twi, the language of the Akan people of Ghana in West Africa. We are saying “goodbye” to school as usual, one-size-fits-all education and teaching to the test.
