Everyone beware. I was almost scammed out of $600 ! I am selling a vanity unit on Gumtree. I had someone telling me that they have deposited the money into my PayPal account and that the funds were pending. They then wanted me to send $600 via MoneyGram to someone in Sydney and then await an email from PayPal requesting the transfer reference number. The email from PayPal did arrive, however it was fake. I spoke to PayPal and they confirmed that they do not 1. Hold funds in pending 2. Have any association whatsoever with Money Gram 3. The email was fake ! I also received a second inquiry from another potential buyer also requesting money ( this time $950 ) to be MoneyGrammed into an account in Beijing ! So please be aware. If someone says they are going to deposit money into your PayPal account, it should be there immediately. It doesnt pend awaiting for you to send money via MoneyGram.
