Everyone has issues, and I understand that in todays techy age we all feel entitled to everyones complete and uninterrupted attention in me offloading my daily issues via social media, and damn it you all better thumbs up, like, comment, share, and tag the hell out of my everyday complaints!! I get that, had a bad day let me pound my virtual fists against this virtual wall, ugh kid are terrors let me take it out on my SIM, laundry never ending and Im missing a left sock tweet tweet, husband, wife, dog, baby sisters fathers uncle, ugh tap tap click click post post....let me reiterate, everyone has issues, but what no one has are solutions. Due to this lack in answers Ill give you some, and no this is not advice this is fact plane and simple, a factual solution to the #1,#2, and #3 most common posts in my feed right now (now that the ungodly Fifty Shades excitement is over, and ignoring the inspirational we will miss yous towards a recently departed comedian). Without scrolling down I have counted 8 frets over money. Heres the solution, stop spending. What? You cant take it with you??? True, but YOU cant take it with you will make sure that it makes your time here miserable. So, stop, stop spending, that goes for all 8 of you and then some. Get a job, swallow your pride and learn the McDonalds menu just to earn a paycheck, that goes for the others unwilling to add to the account but more than happy to swipe the card. Do what you have to do, be broke for a couple of years, its okay, do it be broke for a while in order to enjoy the rest of your life debt free. Ben and I have none (almost none) debt. At 24 we bought a house instead of opening a bar tab, we bought used cars and kept them 10 years and counting instead of that new sports car every 3 years or so, and we pay cash over cringing at a monthly statement. There is one credit card tucked away for emergencies (and as much as I would like it to be Rocky Road is NOT an emergency purchase, nor are Prada shoes or Vera Wang purses). That card is immediately paid off a month or two after the purchase. We budget, EVERYTHING. Budgeting and sticking to it has made it so each year we can take our kids on great vacations, paid for Bens college without the aid of student loans, and if I see something I buy it without worrying about which bill to skimp on in order to buy everything my emergency credit card wont cover. Say no to your children. No you will not die if you dont get that game, no you will not starve if we eat at home, no you do not need that dress, no we do not need a new puppy, cat, rat, snake, worm, lizard, iPod, cell phone, no, no, no. In our home we use the phrase no so much the boys bought us a no button (helps save our vocal chords). Saying no has gotten them a hefty college savings account, it has brought them to Disney twice, it has gotten excitement that when mom and dad do say yes, its huge, and its more cherished, less expected. But believe me when I say my children are not without, they are however not spoiled, all about mes. Do not feel entitled to something you did not earn, just being someones child, relative, friend, spouse, coworker does not make you entitled to their good fortune, no one likes a beggar. Earn your own. Also just because they have what you do not you are also not allowed to wallow in woes is mes. No one likes a cry baby (and no I will not buy you cheese to go with your wine, but you sure as hell can watch me eat and drink it after I get out of work). And I do not believe in I cant. Stephen Hawkins cant and he does, FD Roosevelt couldnt and he lead a nation, so whats your excuse? Theres the solution to your problem. Wham bam stop complaining maam. Or to be nicer dont bring me a problem, instead show me a solution.
